6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) provides information about the potential environmental effects associated with the adoption and implementation of statewide cannabis cultivation regulations. The release of the Draft PEIR triggers a 45-day public review and comment period to allow agencies and interested parties the opportunity to provide input on the environmental analyses, mitigation measures, and alternatives associated with statewide cannabis cultivation. Public and agency comments on the Draft PEIR are a critical part of the environmental review process.

The Compassionate Use Act of 1996 ensures that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use cannabis for medical purposes where medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person’s health would benefit from the use of medical cannabis. Cannabis is a Schedule I drug according to the federal Controlled Substances Act. Cannabis related activity is subject to federal prosecution, regardless of the protections provided by state law.
